For the second year running, we’re delighted to have been announced as finalists for the Custom & Self Build Project of the Year, in the Structural Timber Awards 2025.
Standing out as a worthy finalist, Holme House in West Yorkshire, was built out of necessity, with a desire to redefine the meaning of ‘accessible design’. The accessible home is a single-story, structural insulated panel (SIPs) self-build, designed and built by Jonny & Kara - an inspirational couple who have set a new bar for accessible design. Their objective was to create an energy- efficient home that met their specific needs, without compromise on style or design.
Ian Clay, founding partner, SIPS@Clays said: “We are more than delighted to be shortlisted once again, for the Structural Timber Awards.
“The Custom & Self Build Project of the Year category always attracts incredible SIPs projects but Jonny & Kara’s self build journey is truly inspirational. The accessible home they have self built, themselves, clearly demonstrates the flexibility and performance of building with SIPs and we’re proud to have played a small part in helping them to realise their vision."
The Structural Timber Awards will be held at the National Conference Centre, Birmingham on 1st October and will celebrate the best in timber construction across the UK.
