SIPS@Clays is proud to mark an exceptional milestone – 22 years of collaboration with Hall Varley Homes Ltd, a long standing and respected name in the local Yorkshire housing market.
Since 2003, structural insulated panel (SIPs) provider SIPS@Clays, has designed, fabricated and installed the superstructures of 35 Hall Varley new build homes throughout the county and beyond.
With both companies rooted in Skipton, this enduring partnership reflects a shared commitment to deliver quality, innovation and sustainability in construction and has led to the construction of some of the most sustainable new homes in the north of England.
Ian Clay, Founding Partner, SIPS@Clays said: “When we launched SIPS@Clays back in 2003, we were sure that building homes with Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) was going to be the ‘next big thing’ in construction, and we were right. We knew that their sustainability, speed of build and predictable programming would hugely benefit housing developers, like Hall Varley Homes, and so we were delighted when they recognised our vision and became our very first client.
“Reaching 22 years of business with Hall Varley Homes Ltd is more than a milestone, it is testament to the trust and mutual respect that has been built over more than two decades and we’re proud to have played a role in their continued success."

Hall Varley Homes were so convinced by SIPs construction that they now build all of their new homes using the Kingspan TEK System SIPs building system, provided by SIPS@Clays, including their latest development in Barnoldswick, Lancashire, which will begin on site in July.
Joyce Varley of Hall Varley Homes Ltd said: “After being introduced to the Kingspan TEK SIPs Building System by Ian Clay, we instantly recognised the benefits that SIPs construction could bring to our own business. Our introduction to SIPs was particularly timely as we were about to embark on building Bay Horse Court, a housing project in the heart of Skipton that was logistically challenging with limited access by the canal side, so SIPs technology seemed liked the perfect solution.
“Following on from the success of Bay Horse Court back in 2003, SIPs are now our preferred method of construction."

“The many benefits the system brings to us as a speculative developer, including speed of build, off site manufacturing and the energy efficiency of the product, are a bonus to our business and helps us to deliver homes quickly and sustainably, no matter the challenges of the site. Plus, we know that the mutuality of our collaboration with SIPS@Clays always ensures our projects’ success… Long may it continue.”
As both companies look to the future, their continued partnership is poised to meet the evolving demands of modern housebuilding – from sustainability targets to design innovation.
