Following Garrie & Sue's self-build journey, Channel 4's Grand Designs, The Street, presented by self-build champion and TV presenter, Kevin McCloud, highlighted the couple's super speedy SIPs build in Episode 5, which was supplied, fabricated and erected by the SIPS@Clays team.
Unable to buy a home that was suitable for Sue’s disabilities, the couple decided to build their own at Graven Hill, Bicester, They wanted to create the most practical and accessible home possible in order to give Sue a lot more freedom, improve her quality of life and future proof their lifestyle.
Following discussions with architects Model Projects, the couple chose to build their new home using the Kingspan TEK™, SIPs building system and as the original delivery partner for the system, SIPS@Clays were commissioned for the project.
Grand Designs, The Street, followed 10 pioneering selfbuilders as they embark on their journeys to build their own individual homes at the largest self and custom build community in the UK.
